For the past eight months, I have been working on a book with my co-author Allen P. Wilkinson.  The book is a Consumer’s guide to all things having to do with the California personal injury and wrongful death system and is entitled “Accidents Happen.”

While it has always been a dream of mine to write a book, it never would have been possible without having my co-author’s guidance, mentorship and experience.  Allen is not only an accomplished trial lawyer with more than 25+ years in handling all types of catastrophic injury and complex litigation cases, but he previously wrote the popular book Everybody’s Guide to the Law which was published by HarperCollins in 1986 with a second edition in 2003.

When the idea came up to co-author a book that the average person can use and understand we jumped at the opportunity.  Not only is being involved in an accident a traumatic experience, but the toll it can take both physically and mentally is terrifying.  Add that to the unknown world of the law and dealing with insurance companies and adjusters and things can quickly turn into a nightmare.

What we hope to achieve with Accidents Happen is to provide an inside look into specific areas of California’s personal injury laws in plain, easy to understand language.  We hope to dispel some of the fears and myths that people usually have when involved in a serious accident.  We provide an inside look into the main questions that most people have when they first call and provide them with tips and examples that might be similar to their own experiences.

I am extremely proud of the hard work that Allen and I have put into this book and look forward to its release in June.  Since we are getting closer to the final printing,  I will post updates more frequently including  the final front and back cover, how to get a copy, as well as where the proceeds of the sales will be going.  Thank you all for your continued support.
